TRAVELING TO DRAW

TRAVELING TO DRAW

"Making a travel diary is every kid’s dream! My passion is to explore the world by observing a culture; detailing the landscape and immersing myself into a scene to enable myself to capture the essence of both the people and the setting. Being able to capture a moment in a travel roll means it can be remembered forever. I always strive to capture the authenticity, depth, sensitivity and truth of the people. Creating them in Cambodia has given me such an appreciation for the grace, joy and humility of the Khmer culture which I hope to share.”

ROLLED UP TRAVEL DIARY

ROLLED UP TRAVEL DIARY

Travel rolls are rolled up travelogues (travel diary) with daily life drawings from Cambodia. Unrolled and framed to exhibit their beauty, or kept rolled up to preserve the memory, they are a beautiful piece of artwork illustrating Khmer culture. All rolls are 100% made in Cambodia. They make excellent gifts or souvenirs and capture the beauty of the country.

Origin of Travel Roll – v.raph

Portrait Raphaël Seyfried

ORIGIN OF TRAVEL ROLL

I grew up on the family farm in a small village near Strasbourg in eastern France. After finishing my education I decided it was time to go on the road! Having long dreamed of traveling, I decided to quit my job in an architecture offce in Switzerland and begin travelling. I dreamed of meeting new people, discovering new cultures and documenting my adventures with drawings along the way. After Albania, Greece, New Zealand and Australia, I arrived in Cambodia. I try to draw off the beaten track, capturing authentic Cambodian life...
